My Favourite Outfits For The Races

My Favourite Outfits For The Races

Have you been invited to the races and don’t know what to wear? My partner is big into Horse Racing (and so am I now!)

Racing essentials you need to know:

  • Most races from Oct-April are FREEZING. Unless you are going to be in a bar the whole time then you will be cold. I barely ever wear a dress, I wear gloves and tights and socks etc etc.
  • I wouldn’t wear stiletto heels. A lot of racecourses are just grass, you are probably going to sink!
  • Check out the dress code before attending an event, some races don’t have one and then some are very particular, i.e Ascot in different enclosures you need to wear different items of clothing, women should wear dresses, the most expensive enclosure requires a top hat and tail.

Coats

A coat is so important, it ends up being your whole outfit!

Tops

Top tip: layer the hell out of your top half. The day may start off with the sun shining but it soon gets darker and colder!
